Analysis and Solution of Leakage Causes of Spinning Metering Pump

The leakage of the spinning metering pump is mainly due to improper sealing structure and deformation of some sealing components due to insufficient strength. Zhengzhou BATTE extrusion melt pump manufacturer has provided the following specific solutions based on the analysis of the causes of leakage.

Leakage situation of the spinning metering pump: There is a large amount of degraded melt in the pump cavity at the leakage site. After disassembly and inspection, it was found that: 1. There are generally many oligomers of the leaked melt at the coupling and coupling cover plate; 2. There are degraded yellow melts in and out holes between the pump body and pump seat. The latter is the direct cause of yellow filaments appearing at fixed ingot positions.

Analysis of the leakage reasons of the spinning melt gear pump: 1. The pump base plate of the spinning metering pump is too thin, with insufficient strength, resulting in deformation after loading and poor sealing effect with the pump body; 2. The hot tightening operation of the spinning metering pump is not standardized, the torque is improper, and the local tightness of the dense cover is uneven; 3. Insufficient preheating before pump installation, or insufficient insulation time after installation, causing the temperature of each part of the pump to not balance before starting; 4. The leaked melt was not cleaned up in a timely manner, resulting in contamination of the spinning box after degradation.

Solution measures for leakage of spinning melt metering pump: 1. Add a metal 0-shaped sealing ring at the outer edge of the melt inlet and outlet hole between the pump body and pump seat of the spinning metering pump, change the plane seal to a line seal, and improve the reliability of the seal; 2. Increase the thickness of the pump base plate to prevent it from deforming due to insufficient strength after tightening the bolts, resulting in seal failure and leakage between the pump body and the pump base plate; 3. Add a carbon fiber sealing gasket between the coupling and the cover plate; 4. Due to the overall thickening of the pump, the distance between the spinning metering pump and the motor is shortened, so the length of the drive shaft is adjusted accordingly.
